I was part of the ATS team and our goal was to reduce churn due to missing key features and some legacy, with rejection flows being one of the top issues.

Recruiters reject many candidates daily and do not have time to contact them all, which negatively affects candidate experience.

Our goals were:

  • Finding the best way to display rejected candidates for recruiters.

  • Avoiding candidates feeling like they're just getting immediate auto-replies.

  1. Sketching first MVP flows to get feedback

  1. Testing a prototype with recruiters

learnings

Recruiters appreciated this new experience but wanted us to add even more automations, which was beyond our cycle capacity.
We were still able to release delaying emails and UI updates on the candidate card.
